Get Involved with Green Careers Mission: Create a More Sustainable Greater Manchester
Thursday 7th November 10.00 – 16.00
Location: Manchester Metropolitan Business School, travel expenses funded.
Open to students from all Greater Manchester Universities, including University of Salford.
Deadline to apply: Thursday 31st October.
Are you passionate about sustainability and looking for a career that positively impacts the local and global community? The Green Careers Mission gives you the chance to work with employers to tackle key sustainability issues facing Manchester and even take your ideas to the Manchester Green Summit.
Taking place during Green Careers Week, the Green Careers Mission is a day of challenges and project work that will see you work with potential employers from Manchester to tackle key sustainability issues set out by the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA).
You will work with students from a variety of subjects and universities across Manchester to develop an idea that you think will help Manchester reach a more sustainable future. Your team’s challenge will be set by a green employer who will provide you with mentorship and feedback throughout the day.
This is a fantastic opportunity to discover why being a sustainable graduate makes you so employable, alongside a chance to network with employers looking for green graduates. This will give you a fantastic story to tell potential employers on your CV and in an interview. This challenge will also let you see what bringing sustainability to our local community looks like and provide you with an appreciation of the potential and challenges of implementing sustainable solutions in the real world.
Following the challenge day you will have the option to present your ideas at the Manchester Green Summit. At the summit you will have the opportunity to network with employers, politicians, and community sustainability champions in Manchester!
You will need to complete the application form and applications will close on the 31st October. If the event is oversubscribed the organising team will review applications, and you will be notified by email. Please note that signing up for the event on this page does not guarantee a place on the event.
The event will take place in the Manchester Metropolitan Business School. The University of Salford Sustainability Office will fund reasonable travel expenses.
This event is part of Green Careers Week; find out about other activities and events taking place at University of Salford.
