Environmental Sustainability
Striving for a sustainable Salford
Tree trail
Stage one of our new tree trail is now complete!
We have collaborated with Peel Park to bring you three routes that will help you discover 25 trees, while exploring the campus, Peel Park, David Lewis Playing Fields and The Meadows.
Green Impact
Want to make a difference and help reduce the environmental impact of the University?
Then get involved with Green Impact!
Our staff sustainability engagement programme is a great way for you to enhance sustainability at the University and receive recognition for your efforts.
Students can also take part in the auditing aspect of the programme.
ReUse at Salford
The University of Salford is a member of WARP-it (Waste Action Reuse Portal), a redistribution network, which works in a similar way to Ebay or Freecycle but for organisations rather than individuals.
WARP-it makes it easy for departments to give away, loan or claim items unwanted by others within the organisation and beyond. Items which can be reused include furniture and stationery.
If you are from a local organisation interested in receiving donated items, please get in touch eps-sustainability@salford.ac.uk
EcoCampus Platinum
The Environment and Energy Management System led by the Estates & Facilities Team has received 'EcoCampus Platinum, ISO14001 and ISO 50001 certification’, the highest accolade achievable which demonstrates excellence in sustainability.
Salford is one of only 19 universities with both EcoCampus Platinum and ISO 140001 certification which recognises the university’s commitment to integrating sustainability into our daily services and activities.
