Our student support teams are here to support you and provide advice, guidance and referrals to make sure you’re having the best experience possible.
We cover a wide variety of topics including things like money advice, health and wellbeing, academic support, disability and inclusion, safeguarding, and campus safety.

Urgent Assistance
If you feel seriously at risk or are at immediate physical threat call 999 to ask for the police.
Our campus security team is available for advice and assistance 24 hours a day.

If you are concerned about the immediate wellbeing and welfare for either yourself or a fellow student, then you can find the relevant support on concerns including violence, suicide and any other immediate risks to individuals.
Academic Support
The Library's Learning and Skills Team provides a range of workshops and digital resources to support you during the assessment period. They also offer academic support, skills development and guidance to help you succeed in your studies.

Our Careers and Enterprise team are there to help you make the most of your skills and experience, and help prepare you for the next stage of your career.

Disability and Inclusion
All University of Salford students benefit from inclusive and accessible teaching. Our Disability Inclusion Service works with you to identify adjustments you need to ensure that you have fair and equal access to your education. The team work with prospective and current students, working with you to identify teaching, learning and assessment adjustments, such as exam arrangements and in-class support.

Mental Health, Wellbeing, and Counselling
Our mental health and wellbeing team are here to help you succeed in your studies and in your life by giving tips for taking care of yourself, teaching you ways of managing your wellbeing and providing information on how to look out for your peers too.
If you are a student, you can access free and confidential counselling through the HealthHero phone line - available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Wellbeing Advisors offer phone triage and face-to-face sessions throughout the week, as well as follow-up sessions where appropriate.

Money Advice
Our Money Advice team can help if you are struggling to manage your money. They can offer advice and support if you are in financial hardship and provide guidance on your student finances.

Safeguarding and Report it
We have Designated Safeguarding Officers that work locally in their school or department. Our Designated Safeguarding Officers offer advice, guidance and support around safeguarding and promote a safe environment for all our students and colleagues.
In an emergency or immediate danger call 999 to ask for the police. If you or someone you know has experienced or witnessed a safeguarding concern, please Report-It.

Student Progression Advisors (SPAs)
If you need more academic support, reach out to the Student Progression Advisors (SPAs) in your school - they can help you find information relating to your studies, submit Personal Mitigating Circumstances and access support services.
Basically, they're your go-to person if you experience any issues that may affect your academic progression

There are no services at MediaCity during Trimester 3 and Vacation times. However, you can travel on the 50 bus between campuses for free, Monday to Friday, from 05:00-22:30 with your student ID card.
