CV Feedback appointment: 20 minutes

Exploring Career Options Appointment: Up to 45 minutes
This 45-minute confidential one-to-one appointment can cover advice and guidance on career choices. The adviser can discuss:
- your personal career ideas
- options
- goals
- manageable actions to move closer to achieving these.
Available online or on campus.
Job Seeking and Applications Appointment: Up to 30 minutes
This 30-minute confidential one-to-one appointment can cover information and advice on topics such as:
- covering letters
- applications
- interview preparation
- job hunting (Including placements, internships and voluntary positions).
Working For Yourself Appointment: Up to 45 minutes
This 45-minute confidential one-on-one appointment with an Enterprise Adviser is suitable for exploring brand-new business ideas in depth.
Whether you're starting from the beginning or introducing a fresh concept, this extended meeting provides the time to thoroughly analyse, brainstorm, and strategise the potential of your new concept. You'll receive comprehensive guidance.
Working For Yourself Appointment: Up to 30 minutes
This 30-minute confidential one-on-one session with an Enterprise Adviser is designed for those who wish to build upon a previous appointment.
We'll review the progress of your business idea and address any recent changes or challenges.
Practice Mock Interview Service: Up to 60 minutes (by request only)
Our Careers Advisers offer you the chance to practice your answers in a mock interview setting. Feedback is provided on how to improve your performance for the real interview. Mock Interviews can only be booked with a 48hrs notice period to allow advisers to create the interview questions.
These are customised to the requirements of the particular position you're interviewing for.
Please Note: You must send a copy of the interviews Job Description or Person Specification when booking. Failure to provide either of these will mean that the adviser:
- will not be able to provide a mock interview
or
- will only be able to provide outline interview advice.
Mock interviews can be arranged either online or on campus.
Appointments are available for current students and graduates of the University of Salford only.

Flexible Appointment: Up to 60 minutes (by request only)
Our advisers can offer shorter or longer Careers or Work for Yourself guidance appointments.
These are for students and graduates that identify (diagnosed or self-identify) as disabled, neurodivergent or have a long-term health condition meaning you need alternative timings (e.g. difficulty processing large amounts of information).
These appointments are arranged on a request basis and are subject to availability. To schedule one:
- Email: careers@salford.ac.uk requesting a ‘Flexible length appointment’, include your Student ID number and your availability.
