On campus the University of Salford Sports Centre has 5 fitness suite rooms, a 25-metre pool, dance studio, 30+ fitness classes a week, 6 court sports hall, 2 squash courts, health hub, floodlit 3G pitch and 2 grass pitches.
Fitness suites
Get active for less. Get your heart pumping in the cardio room. Improve fitness and physique in the resistance room. Enjoy HIIT training in the functional training suite or work on specific muscle groups in our upper and lower body strength rooms.
Whatever your goals are, our friendly instructors will tailor a routine to suit. A personal program is even free! You can speak to a member of our team at Reception and book in with one of our Fitness Instructors.
Pool, sauna and spa
Enjoy a swim in our 25 metre, 5 lane, deck level swimming pool and soothe those aching muscles afterwards in the sauna and spa.

Fitness classes
We deliver a variety of group exercise classes for all abilities such as Zumba, Yoga, Pilates and Spinning to name a few, the fitness classes are a great way to stay fit and active throughout the year.
Halls and courts
The sports centre has a six court sports hall, where you can book to play badminton, basketball, netball, futsal, 5-a-side, roller derby, or volleyball. There are also two squash courts available for hire. You can give us a call or speak to a member of our team at Reception to book.
External pitches and changing facilities
We are proud to introduce a brand new floodlit 3G pitch, suitable for football and rugby. The 3G sits aside two grass football pitches down at David Lewis playing fields. There are also on-site shower and changing rooms available to use before or after your session.
Sports injury clinic
Working under the supervision of academic clinicians, our sport rehabilitation students deliver a whole range of treatments including sports massages and injury rehabilitation helping you get back to full fitness. The clinic runs every Monday and Wednesday from the health hub in the sports centre during term time.

Cardiac rehabilitation
In partnership with the School of Health and Society, we have launched a new Cardiac Rehabilitation Phase 4 service. These are specialised group exercise sessions. Patients will be referred from the Cardiac Rehab Phase 3 Programme at Salford Royal, and local GP services, and there will also be additional 1-1 sessions for staff who have been through cardiac rehabilitation (staff should contact their GP first for clearance to exercise).
