About us
By joining Team Salford, you can be part of our ambitious journey and help to make a real difference to the people and communities we support.
We have answered the needs of industry since 1896, when we began as the Salford Royal Technical Institute - we’ve now been a leading university for over 50 years.
We are proud to have more partnerships with SMEs than any other Greater Manchester university. Our forward-thinking approach has powered progress for 125 years.
Strong partnerships with the likes of Siemens, NHS Trusts and The Lowry bring real-world industry opportunities for our students and make a real difference to the communities around us.
Industry collaboration is at the heart of what we do. It means we develop and nurture outstanding relationships with industry in all aspects of our business, from developing our curriculum and producing job-ready graduates, to research, consultancy and knowledge exchange.
Our location sets us apart. We are just 2km from Manchester. Our Peel Park campus is unique and offers lots of green spaces to explore. There are many food and drink outlets on site from Costa Coffee, Subway and many cafes, to other facilities such as our sports centre, museum and library. There are often many free events running on campus for you to enjoy such as comedy, plays, music and films at the New Adelphi Theatre.
We are the only university with a MediaCity campus, sitting right next to neighbours such as ITV and the BBC. Here you'll find lots more options with the Lowry Outlet and Theatre right on the doorstep.
