Family friendly benefits and annual leave
We have a range of family friendly benefits including maternity, paternity, shared parental responsibility, adoption and other special leave and support networks.
We also have a generous annual leave package which includes additional university closure days at Christmas and we support a Holiday Carry Forward scheme. All colleagues also have the option to buy additional annual leave, to help you find the right balance.
Free will writing service
In partnership with our Estate Planning and Will Writing specialists, we offer all colleagues a free will writing service to help plan for the future, protecting family and loved ones.
This free service is offered flexibly to colleagues either by telephone or video call, and colleagues are supported step by step through the process with a specialist adviser.
Online benefits platform
My Salford, our online employee benefit portal, is a one-stop-shop for discounts and colleague benefits with a huge range of discounts on high-street shopping, supermarkets, holidays and cinemas, along with additional seasonal offers. As an employee at the University, you can also apply for a Totum (previously NUS) card to receive additional discounts.
Free eye tests
In partnership with Specsavers, we offer colleagues vouchers for free eye tests and a contribution towards the cost of glasses.
Travel benefits
We offer a wide range of benefits and discounted options for commuting, such as season ticket loans, parking discounts, first bus travel club, and even a car lease scheme.
For those who cycle to work, our Cycle to Work scheme which offers a range of discounts on bikes and accessories from top retailers.
