Catherine Savins joined the University of Salford as a member of the School for Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work and Social Science in 2005. Catherine is a Lecturer and Programme Lead for undergraduate Adult Nursing Programme.
Prior to joining the university in 2005 Catherine worked as an Orthopaedic Nurse and as a Health Visitor. Her academic interests are eclectic but in the main she is interested in clinical skills, high fidelity simulation, health promotion and non-medical prescribing. Catherine also supports the international link with Fulda University in Germany.
As Catherine has an interest in pre-registration curriculum design and academic regulations, she applied and was successfully appointed Programme Leader for the September 11 BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing RN programme. During this time she has continued to teach on the Introduction to Adult Nursing and the Non-Medical Prescribing modules.
Catherine is completing her tenure as a Programme Leader this year, and will be looking to develop an interest in which I can begin to research.
