Biography
Rukaya Abowen-Dake is a Lecturer in Quantity Surveying in the School of Science, Engineering & Environment. She has over five years teaching experience in UK HE. Her teaching interests relate to procurement and contract administration. Rukaya has research interests in construction procurement and contract administration, and how these mechanisms, including built environment assets, can be used to promote social inclusion in local areas. Her current research focuses on social procurement- how public and private entities create social value (community benefits) for local communities through construction procurement processes.
