Current positions

Lecturer in Civil Engineering

I joined University of Salford, School of Computing, Science and Engineering, in 2015 as a Lecturer in Civil (Geotechnical) Engineering before which I worked at University of East London since March 2013 as a lecturer and senior lecturer in Geotechnical Engineering. I stared at University of East London immediately after completing my PhD in (Geotechnical) Engineering at University of Exeter which was fully funded by the prestigious Exeter Research Scholarship (ERS) award. I have been involved in teaching and research activities including research proposals to attract internal and external funding. I have supervised undergraduate and postgraduate research students and projects. My research works have so far been published in the form of journal and conference publications as well as book chapters and were part of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 submission. I am also member of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), institution of civil engineers, British geotechnical association and a number of other professional associations/societies.

Areas of research

Geotechnical Engineering and Soil Mechanics, Computational Geomechanics, Machine learning and Artificial Intelligence in constitutive modelling of complicated civil and geotechnical engineering materials and systems, Slope Stability, Saturated and Unsaturated Soils

  • Level 6 – Case Studies in Environmental Engineering / Integrated Design Exercise / Final Year Projects (MEng, BEng & BSc Civil Engineering)
  • Level 5 – Soil Mechanics / Integrated Design Exercise (MEng, BEng & BSc Civil Engineering)
