Head of Quality, Senior Lecturer
Lecturer since 1983, teaching, supervising and supporting students; PQ module leader and programme leader; Senior Lecturer from 1997 and undertaken various leadership roles e.g. Strategic Lead for Quality August (2003-08), Acting Head of School for 4 months (Nov 2005 – Feb 2006), Quality Assurance Lead (2008-9), and then from October 2009, in the role of Associate Head (Academic) initially for the School of Nursing & Midwifery and then the School as it is now, up to October 2014 when I took flexible retirement. From September 2017 I have taken on the role of Head of Quality.
During this time, I have led the development, planning, implementation and monitoring activities in relation to educational programmes at Certificate to Masters Level, QAA/DoH Major Review, School Reviews, NHS NW SHA and Professional Body Annual Monitoring Reviews, University and/or conjoint Professional Body programme approvals with excellent results.
I am hardworking, organised, conscientious, approachable, and a finisher. I am able to gather and catalogue evidence for internal and external reviews, utilise appropriate IT skills, chair meetings, communicate verbally and in writing to suit a given audience. I have developed a wealth of expertise, knowledge and skills in relation to Teaching, Learning and Quality Assurance processes at an internal and external level. ‘
I currently work part time (3 days a week) and my current workload involves acting as personal tutor for Pre-Registration BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult) - Sept March 2015 (10 students) and Sept 2015 (13 students) cohorts; module leader for the generic level 6 module, Developing the Evidence Base for Practice (DtEBfP), in Year 3 Sem 2 on BSc (Hons) Nursing, C11 curriculum. I am also Strategic ULL Lead for Pennine Acute (Fairfield site) and ULL for 7 clinical areas.

Associate Editor and author of 2 Chapters – Application of Roper, Logan and Tierney Model in Practice Published by Elsevier in Sept 2003, 2008 and due for new publication in 2018
