Andrea Stanley


My professional background is within social work and social care for adults. Over the past 30 years I have worked in the statutory, private and 3rd sectors in a range and roles and settings. These roles have included working as an Social Worker within a Community Mental Health Team, developing advocacy services for people with learning disabilities, and responding to the training and development needs of social workers within a Local Authority.


I am a member of the Practice Learning and Admissions Team and one of the modules leaders for final level placement. As well as providing teaching to support students on placement, I contribute to the 5-day training course for Practice Educators. Other teaching interests include Adult Social Care legislation and Adult Safeguarding.

Research Interests

With other members of the Practice Learning and Admissions Team I am currently involved in a project to evaluate the benefits of introducing social work students to electronic recording systems. within Adult Social Care I have a particular interest in whistleblowing and its role in Adult Safeguarding.
