David Hancock

Biography

I graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1996 and have been exhibiting widely since. I have appeared in a number of prominent exhibitions such as the John Moores 21, Young Masters and the BP Portrait Prize. I have had solo and group shows across the UK and Europe as well as New York, Los Angeles, Shanghai and Hong Kong. I completed my Masters at LJMU in 2010, and my PhD at University of Salford in 2015. Solo exhibitions include Wolverhampton Art Gallery; Ruskin Gallery, Cambridge; Transit Gallery, Mechelen, Belgium; The City Gallery, Leicester; DDM Warehouse, Shanghai, China. I published my first book with Professor Garry Crawford in 2019, Cosplay and the Art of Play, with Palgrave Macmillan.
