Biography
Tawney is a Lecturer in Law, Programme Leader for Law with Criminology, and Module Leader of Criminal Law and Criminal Justice. Her research interests span the fields of criminal law, criminal justice, and criminology, particularly in prisons and punishment, sexual offences and theories of female offending. Tawney’s practical expertise stems from her work in prisons an independent researcher, in which she conducted research within sex-offender-only institutions and the female estate. Tawney holds a Fellowship in Higher Education and is committed to providing a quality student experience. She also has a keen interest in pedagogy and innovative practices in teaching and learning.
