Biography
Sarah has been employed as a Lecturer in Social Work since August 2019. Prior to that, Sarah worked in within frontline social work practice for over 10 years. Her professional background is in adult mental health, older adult mental health and safeguarding adults. Sarah has worked in a range of senior practitioner roles in several social work teams. Sarah worked as an Approved Mental Health Professional and Best Interest Assessor since 2012. Sarah also worked as the Safeguarding Adults Lead for a London borough and worked on the local implementation of the legislative changes to safeguarding adults prior to the implementation of the Care Act 2014. Prior to qualifying as a social worker, Sarah worked in the fields of both learning disability and older people's care & support in a range of support roles.
Sarah teaches on a range of modules across the pre and post-qualifying social work programmes. She is the module leader for the following modules:
- Social Work with Adults (BSc)
- Applied Social Work Practice (BSc)
- Adult Mental Health
- Safeguarding Adults
- Self Neglect
