Lecturer in Fashion Styling Image Making
Biography
I am a writer and lecturer with a background in Fashion, Art, Culture, Media and Creative Writing. I am Editor of This Is Not A Book About Gavin Turk (Trolley, 2014), a collection of essays on contemporary art and a former Editor of Dazed & Confused, where I helped define and document the youth culture of the day alongside leading stylists and image makers. I have written numerous articles and essays on art and culture for publications such as The Observer and i-D, authored and presented an arts programme for Channel 4 and established a curatorial art project based on story-telling and narrative. Prior to teaching at Salford I was a Visiting Lecturer in Media and Journalism at The University Of Greenwich

I have over ten years teaching experience in Higher Education and am committed to developing student creativity, knowledge and understanding in order to bring out the best in each individual. I am currently a Lecturer in Fashion Styling & Image Making – we are recognised within industry as one of the most progressive courses in the UK and I love being part of the teaching team here.
I am a PhD Candidate in Creative Writing here at Salford researching writing on personal trauma, its aftermath and process of recovery through my own practice and that of other authors addressing similar themes.
