Senior Lecturer

Biography

Rachel Mallen is a Senior Lecturer in Counselling & Psychotherapy and HEA Fellow at The University of Salford. She is a Clinical & Group Supervisor for BSc Counselling students & Greater Manchester Bereavement Service Supervisees, Module Leader for L6 & L7 Bereavement & Loss on the BSc & MSc Counselling & Psychotherapy programmes, MSc Dissertation Supervisor and External Examiner for FdSc and BSc Counselling programmes at Guildford College (as validated by Middlesex University).

Areas of Research

Rachel's research specialises in workplace wellbeing and uses qualitative, phenomenological and feminist methodology to explore female counselling and psychotherapy Clinical Supervisors’ lived experiences of burnout associated with personal and professional encounters of bereavement and loss.
