Biography
Prior to starting my academic career, I established an industry profile through working as a freelance guitarist in a variety of settings. I have performed with several high-profile pop acts and toured extensively with musical theatre productions. I remain an active performer and am passionate about ensuring my experience feeds into the curriculum.
My leadership responsibilities within the Music Directorate include being MA performance pathway Leader, and undergraduate pop performance coordinator. The teaching roles I fulfill relate to my specialisms in the following areas: Session Musicianship, Ensemble Musicianship, Group Improvisation, LV6 and MA project supervision. I have acted as external examiner for BA Popular Music at USWTD and regularly engage with academic calibration training as part of the Advance HE Degree Standards Project.
