Biography
A Lecturer in Counselling & Psychotherapy at the University of Salford, teaching across MSc and BSc programmes and a module leader of Bereavement & Loss ; Interests surround mindfulness based Inquiry & compassion based approaches to teaching and counselling practice ; current research interests are on autoethnographic methods of research enquiry and creativity in HE.
Hold a small private practice where I offers therapy and supervision for counsellors and other professionals ( ie. In social work, mental health ). Amidst all I am also a mother to a toddler, a wife, dog owner and a curious learner.
Module Lead Bereavement & Loss; I am also a personal tutor and facilitate personal development groups as well as supervision groups with our trainee counsellors. I have a special interest in creative and experiential ways of facilitating learning in HE and stimulating this interest and value in it & share practice with other colleagues across the School . I am a member of Creative Academic & Lifewide Education team which are platforms of cross collaboration with colleagues across the UK & abroad.
My research interests are around creativity in academia , heuristic and autoethnographic approaches , Creative methodologies in Research; Projects currently under way : "Mortality Project : Day of the Dead Event" .
