Biography
My professional background is as a Chartered Physiotherapist, gaining my initial professional qualifications (Graduate Diploma in Physiotherapy) and MSc at Salford. I initially worked in general Physiotherapy practice before spending a year working in Australia in 1990. On my return to the UK I took up a specialist post in Paediatrics where I developed my interest in gait and orthotic management.
I started working as a full time Lecturer at the University of Salford in January 1999. I became the Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy in 2001, initially for the part time route and later for the full time cohorts, a position I still hold to date. I also held the post of co-director for several years which involved management of the staff team, finances and activity of the department.

I am involved in the development and delivery of Gait analysis services for children in the Greater Manchester area. Performing weekly sessions for children with gait impairment mainly arising from Cerebral Palsy.
