Biography
Following my studies at Stathclyde and Sheffield Hallam Universities, I have been successful in achieving chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. I have over 20 years’ experience of working in industry, in both the public and private sector’s managing large commercial property portfolios for The Boots Company, De Montford University, Network Rail, and The Arch Co. I am very proactive about promoting and maintaining professional standards and encouraging more surveyors into the profession, through being a member of the RICS NW Regional Board, APC Mentor/Assessor for the Commercial Property pathway and an Inspire Ambassador.
I was an hourly paid academic prior to joining the university on a permanent basis in November 2019. I was involved in guest and shadow lecturing. I have also helped on a funding bid for a real estate research project.
I am very interested in urban regeneration, property asset management and placemaking strategies.
I am also very proactive in ensuring that professional standards for the RICS are maintained and in promoting the role of a Chartered Surveyor/ Town Planner as a viable career option for school and HE students to ensure diversity and inclusion.
