Biography
Since qualifying as a registered nurse, Joyce's clinical career has been within the Adult Intensive Care Unit. The importance of recognising and responding to acutely ill patients, intensive care nursing and the support student nurses receive in the clinical learning environment has both informed and influenced Joyce's research interests. In 2006 she entered nurse education, Joyce is the Acute Illness Management (AIM) Champion for the University and in 2008 she introduced, organised and continues to facilitate the Greater Manchester Critical Care Skills Institute Course for third year student nurses. A member of the AIM Advisory Board for the Greater Manchester Critical Care Skills Institute.
