BIOGRAPHY
After completing his undergraduate studies in 2001, Donal joined Allied Irish Banks (AIB Bank), Ireland’s largest retail and commercial bank. Donal initially worked as a commercial and corporate lender at the Bank. After completing further professional studies, he later moved to the Bank’s in-house legal department where he was tasked with advising the retail banking teams and the commercial & corporate banking units on all aspects of banking, credit and securities law. In 2006 Donal accepted a managerial role at Bank of Scotland (Ireland) where he was responsible for advising and ensuring the Bank remained properly and effectively compliant with the regulatory framework governing the financial services industry.
In 2007, Donal undertook further studies for the award of an LL.M in International Commercial Law. At this time he also put his extensive commercial and banking experience to use by taking up the position of Lecturer in Contract Law, Law for Business and Company Law at the University of Limerick, Ireland. In 2009, Donal joined Salford Law School where he is module leader for a number of modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He is also the Programme Leader for the LLM – Master of Laws in International Business Law and Regulation
