BIOGRAPHY
I am relatively new to academic life, joining the University of Salford in 2015 after 25 years working in the field of Adult Nursing.
During this time I have worked across various specialties including Elderly Care, Cardiology, Respiratory and General Medicine.
The roles I have held range from staff nurse to ward manager, practice educator and clinical site manager.
Since joining the University I have worked in undergraduate nurse education and I am currently a part of the admissions team for nursing
I am interested in widening participation in Nursing. As part of my work in nursing admissions I regularly visit local schools and colleges to talk about opportunities in Healthcare as a career. I am involved in the National Collaborative Outreach Programme which aims to provide the opportunity for young adults in the Greater Manchester area who would not traditionally access higher education to visit the university and hopefully consider higher education as a realistic life choice.
