Biography
Brian joined the University of Salford in 2015 having experience in several HEI across the UK. He trained as a nurse at the Royal London Hospital and qualified in Adult and Mental Health care. His clinical speciality is emergency care. Brian has held a variety of positions at Salford, AD for Ops & Strategy, Interim Dean and now holds the portfolio of International development, he also leads on student and staff recruitment. He was awarded the Council of Deans/ Florence Nightingale Scholarship in 2018 and has been created a Freeman of the Company of Nurses in 2021. His current research interest (for his doctorate in education) is understanding the role of the nurse and the public’s understanding of care provision. He is a member of the regulation sub-group at the Council of Deans and is a #150student leadership mentor. His hobbies include travelling, cooking and Dr Who.
