Clinical Educator
Biography
Alison joined the university in September 2019 as a Clinical Educator on the Nursing Associate Degree Apprenticeship Programme. Alison commenced her nursing journey at Hammersmith Hospital in 1986 becoming a registered general nurse. Knowing she always wanted to be a paediatric nurse Alison undertook the post registration course and became a registered sick children's nurse. Alison has always had a keen interest in paediatric oncology and haematology has held several different positions within paediatric oncology and haematology. Prior to joining the university Alison was a Chemotherapy Nurse Specialist providing the chemotherapy training for the staff. Alison has always enjoyed supporting students on their journey through their training. Alison is the lead for Medicines Management on the programme.
Alison mainly teaches on year 2 of the Nursing Associate Degree Apprenticeship Programme and medication management across the programme.
