What our students say:

“I have been a nurse in China for ten years. I felt that my insufficient knowledge about nursing research was preventing me from providing the best quality nursing care for my patients, so I decided to return to university – my independent learning and critical thinking skills have been greatly improved. The university has encouraged me to have a new dream and have the courage to chase it.”

Meet Dr Tom Laws, your programme leader.

Dr Laws has a PhD in Community Medicine and a degree in Economics, both of which have led to him working on evaluations of projects that seek to promote health and wellbeing. An evaluation of a social enterprise training programme for vulnerable young adults was extended with funding by the Health Foundation and Dr Laws is undertaking further evaluation.
