Finding somewhere to live
If you’re moving away from home for the first time to start your studies, you might feel a bit worried about where you’re going to live. Don’t be. Having your own place can be part of the adventure – expect to make friends and learn about fridge politics. Head to our accommodation information for more details.
If you’ve already booked your accommodation in Peel Park Quarter or Eddie Colman/John Lester Courts, you’ll be hearing from Campus Living Villages separately about moving in dates and anything else you need to know.
When you enrol you’ll be given more details on your induction and teaching timetable, which will be dependent on your course. The college will contact you separately about enrolling at University Centre, Future Skills, Dakota Avenue, Salford M50 2PU.

Settling in to your studies
To get you settled in, we have highlighted some key activities to help you get a head start and to help you make the most of your studies.
Developing your academic skills
Our Get Ready to Learn at the University of Salford resource will give you a great introduction to studying here. As well as giving you a jump start with your academic studies, you’ll find information about the University’s Clifford Whitworth Library and Blackboard, our Virtual Learning Environment, as well as how you can get Office 365 for free. Find out more and get started.
Get a job
If you need to find a job, we can help with that. Our recruitment agency, Unitemps, can help you find part-time work that fits around your studies and we have a full careers service that can help build your skills and get you ready for the world of work after graduating.
Be part of something bigger at university. Whether you want to play competitively, have fun with your friends, or just want to stay fit and healthy, you can join Team Salford by signing up to the University of Salford’s Sports Centre, or joining a Students’ Union Sports Club and Activity Group. We have it all; from Give Sport A Go, our no commitment drop-in sessions, to campus sport where groups of friends, accommodations and course mates battle it out for campus pride. Finally, make sure you keep your eye out for our annual major Varsity competition against the University of Chester, either by playing yourself or by getting a Varsity t-shirt and coming along to support!
