Student terms and conditions

These terms and conditions apply to all students who are studying taught or research programmes with us and set out the provisions that are central to our relationship with you.

You need to read this important information carefully prior to accepting your offer and ensure that you understand its contents.

Changes to Student Terms and Conditions

If you are a returning student, please read the terms and conditions carefully before re-registering each year. For the 2025/26 academic year, minor changes have been made that include, but are not limited to:

  • New information added referring to fee increases, refund policies and sponsor obligations
  • Expanded requirements for students with visas and consequences of visa issues
  • Rules and Regulations section expanded to include requirements imposed by law or accrediting bodies

Please get in touch with us at askus@salford.ac.uk if you are unsure about anything provided in your terms and conditions and wish to discuss further before applying or registering with us. We can also help if you have difficulty in accessing these documents, experience broken web links or would like these documents provided in any other format for ease of accessibility.

Pre-enrolment registration rights

You have a statutory right to cancel your pre-enrolment contract with the university (without giving any reason) within a 14 day period, starting on the day after you accept your offer.  Section 6 of the terms and conditions provides further information.

Student Protection

In line with the requirements of the Office for Students’ Regulatory Framework, we have published a Student Protection Plan which outlines the measures in place within the university to protect the interests of both prospective and current students.
