Luisa Omielan is a BAFTA-winning comedian and University of Salford alumna, widely recognised for her bold, high-energy and empowering style of comedy. 

Luisa burst onto the scene in 2012 with her debut solo show What Would Beyoncé Do? at the Brighton Fringe, which went on to achieve seven sell-out runs at London’s Soho Theatre. She was the first comedian ever to be selected as a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit, marking her out as one of the UK’s most distinctive voices in stand-up. 

Her follow-up show, Am I Right Ladies?!, toured the UK to critical acclaim and five-star reviews, further cementing her reputation as a leading voice in contemporary comedy. Luisa has been performed across the UK and worldwide, including appearances at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, where she received multiple nominations. A viral clip from her stand-up on the “thigh gap” has amassed over 45 million views worldwide. 

Her work has been broadcast on the BBC, including Live at the Apollo, and she has appeared on Stand Up Central for Comedy Central. She has also been featured in major publications including The Guardian, Vogue and Forbes.’
