BIOGRAPHY

I joined Salford Business School in January 2016, after holding positions at Liverpool Hope University, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of ‘Roma Tre’ (Rome, Italy).

I am currently the Lead of the 'Governance Legal, and Ethics' Research Cluster; the Research and REF Impact Lead for the Law Subject Group; and the Pathway Lead (Law) for the North West Consortium Doctoral Training Partnership (NWCDTP) at Salford.

My research interests span jurisprudence, constitutional and administrative law (national and transnational), and philosophy. My latest research project investigates regulatory responses to the Covid-19 pandemic.

I am under contract with Hart/Bloomsbury to publish in 2021 my first monograph, entitled 'The Making of Constitutional Democracy: From Creation to Application of Law', as part of the prestigious 'Law and Practical Reason' Series. My work to date has appeared, among others, in two leading legal theory collections edited by Springer (one chapter is available open access here), in Res Publica, and in Rivista Italiana di Diritto Pubblico e Comunitario.

I hold a Doctorate in Public Law from the University of ‘Roma Tre’ in Rome (2011) and a Ph.D. in Legal Theory from the University of Edinburgh (2014). I am also a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

I welcome PhD applications in all my areas of research expertise.
