Lecturer in Data Science
As an active researcher in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Judita Preiss applies novel research methods to (large scale) real world applications. She has worked in a large number of NLP areas including: literature based discovery, machine translation, parsing, anaphora resolution and word sense disambiguation. Her teaching focuses mainly on data science, leading the Big Data Tools & Techniques module on the MSc Data Science and having led the Data Analytics module on the undergraduate programme. Certified to the associate level as SysOps administrator and AWS Educator enables her students to extend applications of big data to the cloud. She supervises many undergraduate and post graduate projects, and enjoys encouraging students to advance their - and everyone else's - knowledge by exploring new ideas.
