    Biography 

    Ibrahim Sirkeci is an accomplished academic and entrepreneur who joined Salford Business School as Interim Head of the Enterprise Subject Group in 2022. Previously he was a Professor, Head of the Marketing Cluster, and Director of the Centre for Transnational Management at Regent's University London where he served from 2005 to 2021. Through his career spanning over two decades, Professor Sirkeci has also worked at the University of Bristol, Coventry University, Edinburgh Napier University, the University of Hertfordshire, and the University of Wales Trinity St David along with several appointments abroad.

    Sirkeci obtained his PhD in Geography from the University of Sheffield in 2003. He has a BA in Political Science and Public Administration from Bilkent University. He also completed a postgraduate course in teaching and learning in higher education at the Institute of Education, University College London.

    He has extensive research and publication record on migration, ethnicity, conflict, labour markets, transnational marketing, and remittances. He has carried out research in the UK, Turkey, Iraq, Germany, Norway, and Romania. His research and expertise have attracted funding from The British Academy, Higher Education Academy, European Commission, and The World Bank as well as from private organisations such as IPSOS and Ria Money Transfer.

    He is the author/editor of many books including Handbook of Culture and Migration (2021), COVID-19 and Migration, Understanding the Pandemic and Human Mobility (2020), Little Turkey in Great Britain (2016), Transnational Marketing (2013), Migration and Remittances during the Global Financial Crisis and Beyond (2012) and Cultures of Migration, the Global Nature of Contemporary Mobility (2012).

    Ibrahim Sirkeci is also the editor of several journals and serves on editorial boards of many. He has established 18 scholarly international journals and the independent publishing house Transnational Press London. He is also the founder of the successful global annual event, The Migration Conference which attracts about 500 participants every year and hosted by prestigious universities around the world.
