Join us at your Offer Holder Day
Offer Holder Days are held on campus between February and May and allow you to experience a day in the life of a Salford student. You’ll gain an insight into your course through subject taster sessions, and meet with staff, students, and your future classmates.
During the event, you'll be able to explore our fantastic facilities including our accommodation, the Students’ Union and our sports centre. You can also find out more about applying for student finance, and all the support we have available for our students.

Accommodation is a big part of university life for lots of students - and there are some fantastic options both here at the University of Salford and around Salford and Greater Manchester. Let us take you through the accommodation booking process and answer your questions at our accommodation session.
Life on campus
On campus, there's lots to get involved in: from joining a society, to exploring our sports centre and fitness classes, to winding down after a day of lectures in our Students' Union bar and café. We also have beautiful green spaces for you to relax, with Peel Park situated right next to our Peel Park campus. Explore our campuses on Instagram and TikTok, and on the links below.
Your accommodation
Living in halls is a great way to meet new people, make friends, and immerse yourself in student life. We work with our accommodation partners, Campus Living Villages (CLV), who manage our Peel Park Quarter and John Lester and Eddie Colman Courts accommodation villages. Bookings for these sites opens in the spring, and we'll contact all offer holders when this happens.
Some of our students decide to live off-campus and there are lots of other options to find a great place to live. There are a wide range of purpose-built student accommodation across Salford and Manchester. Many of these properties have similar facilities to our partnered accommodation, such as utility bills and wifi included in your rent, on-site gyms, social events, communal areas and study spaces.

Students' Union and societies
Our Students' Union (SU) based in University House is the place to go for all your student queries once you're on campus. Run by our students, the SU is home to our bar, restaurant and events space Atmosphere, as well as all the clubs and societies we have here at Salford - check them out in the video below.
Sports Centre
Our sports centre comes complete with a swimming pool, sauna and spa, a gym, a six-court sports hall, fitness suites, fitness classes, external pitches and changing facilities. Perfect for working out in the morning, lunch time, evening - whatever time of day suits you.

We want you to enjoy your time studying here, but we understand that sometimes you might need a little extra support.
Our on-campus support team, askUS, is your home for all things outside of your studies. Whether you need advice about accommodation, settling in to student life, or just want a chat with our friendly Wellbeing team, askUS are here to support you with whatever you need, in ways that suit you.

Disability inclusion support
Here at Salford, we strive to make all aspects of study inclusive to everyone. We can help you take the steps you need to prepare for university if you have a disability, long-term health condition, specific learning difficulty, mental health difficulty, or are awaiting a diagnosis. We can work with you to make adjustments for learning and assessments, and help you access any funding you may be eligible to, to help you cover the costs of equipment or practical support.
If you decide to make Salford your firm choice, it is important to speak to us from spring/early summer to ensure that you have the right support for your disability in place from the first day of your course. You may also want to attend one of our transition to study events in the summer, which are a great introduction to Salford’s support services and campus. We'll be in touch with relevant offer holders with more details about these nearer the time.

Care experienced support
If you have been in care, there is support available to you when you begin your studies at Salford. We have a dedicated team to help you and, even if you don't get any support from your Local Authority but you are care experienced, then this support still applies to you.
Student carers or parents
If you have caring responsibilities for a partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour, you're expecting a baby or have children, we're here to help you find the balance between studying and your other responsibilities. Students without parental support
The Student Loan Company use the term “Estranged” to describe someone who has no contact with their parents because of a breakdown in the relationship. If this is something you've experienced, we understand that this can have an impact on both your finances and your wellbeing at university.
Fees and funding
Deciding to come to university can be a large financial commitment and the different types of loans or scholarships available and how they work can be confusing. Therefore, it's really important to understand the fees you're required to pay and to learn how to manage your money once you arrive.
Student Finance England applications are open now for undergraduate students starting full-time courses in September 2025 and January 2026. If you live in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, applications are expected to open by the end of March.

City life in Salford and Manchester
University life isn't just about lectures and labs - the city you live in also shapes how you learn and the person you become. Salford is part of Greater Manchester, a thriving, diverse city-region in the north-west of England.
Our Peel Park and Frederick Road campuses are just a 20 minute walk from Manchester city centre, or you can get the train in from our on-campus train station (Salford Crescent) to enjoy the history, culture, bars, and restaurants of two fantastic cities. From our MediaCity campus you can jump on a tram right outside the building to go directly into Manchester.

International students – your next steps
If you are an international student, you may have offer conditions you need to meet before you can get an unconditional offer. This includes showing proof of English language and paying a deposit. You may also need to get your Student visa.
