Greater Manchester Construction Museum
The Greater Manchester Construction Museum (GMCM) introduces young people to the materials and skills used in constructing safe, sustainable buildings, as well as the rewarding careers in the built environment sector. Visitors learn about state-of-the-art equipment used in the industry today, take part in interactive exercises led by our expert team and get hands on with the materials that make up our world.

The Greater Manchester Construction Museum was launched at the School of Science, Engineering and Environment's Apprenticeship Showcase event on Wednesday 2 April. Our employer partners were the first to explore the exhibits and hear from RECOM Solutions' Head of Passive Fire Protection, Sarah Leadbetter about their contribution to the museum. Take a look at the photos below to learn more about our Apprenticeship Showcase event.

Our Apprenticeship Showcase event was made possible thanks to the over half a million pounds in funding we received from the Office for Students. This funding has helped us to increase quality of opportunity for degree apprenticeships in order to meet present and future skills needs.
An apprenticeship combines academic study at university with on-the-job training in the workplace. Apprenticeships attract and retain talent for your business, boost productivity and upskill your workforce. Our programmes range from Level 4 to Level 6 and cover a range of roles within the built environment, from Quantity Surveyors and Civil Engineers to Construction Site Supervisors and Project Managers.
