Welcome and introduction to the programme
This session introduces the structure, expectations, and ethos of the MSc Public Health programme. It will provide an overview of the curriculum, assessment approach, and key thematic priorities (e.g., health equity, systems thinking, and evidence-based practice). Students will also take part in structured introductory activities designed to begin building a supportive learning community, explore their diverse backgrounds and interests, and establish expectations for collaborative postgraduate study.
Welcome and introduction to the programme
This session builds on the morning introduction by exploring the MSc Public Health programme in more detail. It will focus on key components of the student experience, including module structure, assessment expectations, and approaches to teaching and learning at Level 7. Students will also be introduced to the wider University environment, including academic support services, digital learning platforms, and expectations around independent study and engagement. Interactive activities will support students in asking questions, clarifying expectations, and continuing to build peer connections within the cohort.
