Occupational Therapy (BSc)

This session will introduce you to Occupational Therapy in the University of Salford. For this session, you will be in your BSc (full-time) class group and meet with the Programme Leader, Year Manager and other key staff.

There are four sessions that you will rotate between. These sessions will help you to get to know a few people on the different Occupational Therapy programmes and learn some key information about Occupational Therapy. It is a chance for you to think about your strengths and what you will bring to the programmes to help you succeed. The sessions are 'Shark Tank', Meet current students, My journey using Kawa and IT essentials.

This is an optional session. Please join some of the lecturers if you have any questions. 

This session provides you with information about the BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy programme. You will be guided through the different modules and ways of working during the programme. You will also have an opportunity to meet the Programme Leader, Year Manager and other key team members. 

This session includes essential information to prepare you for study. We will explain the essential tasks you need to do to prepare for placement and for University-based study.

Take this time to complete actions on your occupational therapy specific task list. You may choose to do your campus tour, make sure you have registered or do some of the online core skills training this morning.

If you have not yet registered, please do it before the end of today. You will need to join tomorrow's online session using your University details.

In this online session, we will discuss expectations that you can have for us, expectations that we have for you and the expectations set out by our regulator, the Health and Care Professions Council and our Professional Body, the Royal College of Occupational Therapists. This session is online, so you need to have completed registration and be able to log into the Teams meeting using your University account. Please also be prepared to be interactive - a second device (like your phone) may be helpful. 

Please take this time to complete any remaining essential learning from your task list.

There are two rooms available with occupational therapy staff so that you can ask any questions about study skills, library resources and reading lists, your timetable, getting around Blackboard and academic tutoring. 

Drop in to the 'I need help' room if you have any questions that you would like to be answered and we will do our best to help out! If you do not have any questions, take this time to explore campus and do anything left on your checklist.
