Library scavenger hunt
In this session, you’ll take part in a structured scavenger hunt to familiarise yourself with the library environment and the academic support available to you. You’ll complete a set of tasks that introduce you to key spaces, tools, and services, helping you build confidence in finding resources, using library systems, and accessing support to strengthen your academic work.
Meet the programme team
This afternoon you will meet the programme team and be introduced to your personal tutor. Your personal tutor will be your first point of contact for most enquiries throughout your university journey. This session is a great opportunity to ask questions and learn more about those who will be supporting you through the programme.
Sports session
You’ll be taken to the University of Salford Sports Centre for a quick tour of the facilities and an introduction to the sports clubs on offer. You’ll learn how to join, what sessions are available, and how to access the centre throughout your studies.

Expectations of university life and my professional life as a SNA
This session introduces you to your 'professional life' across university, placement and online spaces. It is a nice introduction to the NMC and the professional values you are expected to demonstrate while on the programme.

Introduction to Blackboard and MS Teams
This session introduces you to our online learning platform - Blackboard, and Microsoft Teams. From this, you will be able to complete the independent tasks set for the following day, and have a good starting point when Module 1 begins on Monday.

Completion of directed learning activities
You will join this session online via MS Teams where the directed learning activities will be explained. You will then spend the rest of the day working through the activities to prepare you for life as a student at the University of Salford, including exploring teaching methods, IT essentials and how to be a successful independent learner.
