Faculty welcome and programme specific induction session 1 with your Programme Team

This session is an introduction to the Faculty of Social Science, Humanities and the Arts for People and the Economy (SHAPE). There will be a video from your Dean Professor Katy Mason welcoming you to the faculty. Associate Dean Education and Student Experience will come along to welcome you alongside the Director for Law who will discuss the faculty that you are now part of. 

Your Programme Leader will run the rest of the session which will give you vital information to start your University journey. You will get connected to the internet, discover the student hub, discover your timetable, get an overview of the support available, learn more about the Students' Union and find out the modules you will study over your first year. 

The Business and Law Student sabbatical officer will be there to meet you all and explain the role of the Students' Union and how you can get involved whether you are commuting or living on campus.

Programme specific break out class activity sessions

You will need to arrive at the 6th floor of Maxwell building in room 620 for 10:00am, come prepared with pen and paper and/or your devices. You will go into smaller groups to really look at Law and discover the subjects you will be studying. The sessions throughout the day will be interactive and have you working together to solve the problems put to you. Throughout the sessions you will gain vital insight into how to use the VLE Blackboard, get connected to the internet and meet your students and lecturers on your course.

Programme specific induction session 2 with your Programme Team

This interactive session will help you feel more confident with the systems we use at Salford. You will start to explore the VLE Blackboard and how to access it. You will meet some of your teaching team in this session and be able to ask questions you may have. There is a section on exploring the library and the services it offers, the library is not just books! By the end of the session you will be able to access your modules on Blackboard, know about your assessments, understand your timetable and know how to access the library from anywhere.

This is a time for you to meet your fellow students and Lecturers in a more informal environment. You will take on each other in challenges to see who will emerge as the winning Team. Will you work with the lecturers or will you take them on, it's for you to decide. A fun session that gives you chance to speak to people in a relaxed space. Prizes for the winning team and refreshments available for all.
