Welcome to your induction schedule. This schedule includes the activities and events designed to help you get started on your course, meet your tutors and connect with other students during your first week at the University.

Faculty welcome and welcome to the programme

This session is an introduction to the Faculty of Social Science, Humanities and the Arts for People and the Economy (SHAPE). There will be a video from your Dean Professor Katy Mason welcoming you to the faculty. Associate Dean Education and Student Experience will come along to welcome you alongside the Director for Business and Accounting who will discuss the faculty that you are now part of. 

You will get connected to the internet so you are ready to go when on campus. You will get an overview of Business, more about how to be an independent learner in University and a taster of the subjects to come.

The Business and Law Student sabbatical officer will be there to meet you all and explain the role of the Student Union and how you can get involved whether you are commuting or living on campus. 

Also joining us will be three alumni (previous students of Foundation Year) to talk to you about everything they wish they had known at the start.

Building on the things you have learnt and ensuring student success, how the school will support you to be successful and what your commitments are as a student at the University of Salford. This session will help you to become familiar with the resources that you will be using, help you get to know others on your course and help you find your way round campus.

This session will take you through your assessment strategy for the year ahead. We will launch the year long project that you will be taking part in that forms part of your assessment. 

There will be time at the end to ask any questions you may have anonymously about the year ahead.
