Track your application
Once you've submitted your application through the Applicant Portal, you'll receive an email confirming that we have received your application.
This email should arrive within five minutes of your submission. If you have not received this and it is not in your junk folder, please contact the relevant Admissions team using the details at the bottom of this page.
We'll contact you again when a decision has been made.
You can track your application by logging into the Applicant Portal. If your application is successful, you will be able to download your offer letter from here. You will also be sent an email with your offer letter.
Receiving and replying to your offer
Receiving your offer
If your application is successful, you will receive an offer letter outlining our Terms and Conditions, and details of any conditions that you are expected to meet before you can register.
If you are an international student, please be aware that we have deadlines that must be met for applications and CAS.
There are two types of offers you can receive: an unconditional offer or a conditional offer.
- An unconditional offer means you have already satisfied the requirements for entry, and we have accepted you as a student.
- A conditional offer means there are some outstanding conditions you need to meet before we can accept you as a student.
Offer conditions could include submitting exam results, providing a satisfactory reference, or evidence of professional qualifications.
The conditions of your offer will be detailed in your offer letter. You should provide evidence of meeting the conditions of your offer as soon as possible, and no later than two weeks before the start of the course. Please upload evidence of meeting your conditions to the Applicant Portal.
If you have any questions about the conditions of your offer, please contact the Admissions Team using the contact details sent in your offer letter email.
Replying to your offer
Whether your offer is conditional or unconditional, you will need to confirm whether you would like to accept your place with us, or if you wish to decline or defer your place to a different academic year.
You can accept or decline your offer on the Applicant Portal - see our knowledge guide for more help with this process.
It is very important you accept your offer no later than two weeks before the start of the course, so that you receive information about Registration and that you are able to start the course on time. We will not send registration information to applicants who have not accepted their offer.

Offer Holder Days
Our Offer Holder Days are taking place between February and April 2026. These are on-campus events where you can meet your fellow applicants, see how your chosen course is taught, and get a real taste of life as a Salford student. Take a virtual tour
Take a virtual tour of our campus and facilities from the comfort of your own home using our virtual experience platform. You can also find lots of resources about your course, accommodation and student life at Salford on there.
Fees and funding
When you come to university, it’s important to manage your money carefully. Our student support service, askUS, offers information and advice on all aspects of student finance, whether you’re a current or prospective student.
Wellbeing and support
Your university days can be the most exciting time of your life, but they can also be challenging. Whatever your personal circumstances, we want to make your Salford experience a positive one, which is why we've created a dedicated, specialist support service, askUS.
askUS can offer you help and advice on a wide range of issues, including wellbeing and counselling, disability support, money and finances, accommodation, faith, carer support and more.
If you have a disability, mental health condition or if you think you might need emotional support while you're at university, it's important that you have support in place before you start. If you need support, we need to know about it as early as possible, so we can help you whenever you may need it.
Applying for student accommodation
If you've been offered a place to study with us, another important decision you'll make is where you're going to live. If you’d like to live in student accommodation, our partnered accommodation is managed by Campus Living Villages (CLV). Room bookings open in the spring, and we'll contact all offer holders when this happens.
If you’d prefer to live off-campus or will be commuting from home, we can also support and advise you to ensure you're getting the most out of your time studying with us.
Jargon Buster
We know that applying to university can be confusing at the best of times, not least because you come up against a lot of words and acronyms that might be new to you. To help you out, we’ve put together a handy Jargon Buster page to help you understand the world of university lingo!
Information for parents and supporters
If you're a parent, carer or supporter of a student applying to study with us, you'll likely have a few questions of your own about the application process, as well as any deadlines that need to be met for an application to be considered.
We've put together a handy guide just for you, to keep you up to date with key facts and information about our university and how your son or daughter can apply to start their studies with us. We also have a monthly Student Supporters' email newsletter, as well as regular online events to have your questions answered by our team.
FAQs
If you have a question about your application, you can contact us at anytime. We've also put together a list of frequently asked questions, so check these out first to find out if your question has already been answered by our team.
