Why study Science?

  • Biology is the science that help us to explore and explain life processes in humans and the natural world. Biologists work to solve some of the biggest challenges currently faced by people and the planet today.

  • Chemical science graduates' skills and knowledge are in demand across a range of industries including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, food and brewing industries, as well as in clinical areas such as such as forensic science.

  • To better prepare for future pandemics, we need more biomedicine specialists ready to make new discoveries and help fight them and other associated global health issues.

  • Global biodiversity is at an all-time low, with many more species becoming endangered every year. Improving wildlife habitats in both urban and rural areas in the UK is a priority for local conservation specialists.
