How much time will I spend in the labs?
Each week, your learning will be split between practical lab sessions where you will learn to use the equipment and carry out your own research projects, and taught lectures which will give you the theoretical knowledge needed in each module.
Is there an option to specialise my learning?
Yes. In both your second and third year, you will be able to select from a range of modules, creating a programme which caters to your interests and can provide specialist knowledge. More information on the elective modules available for your course will be listed on each individual course page on our website.
What careers will be open to me when I graduate?
Each of our biology and wildlife courses will prepare you for a range of vocational careers in either biological or life sciences, within environmental consultancies or zoos. Our alumni have progressed into a variety of job roles including marine scientist, conservation officer, ecologist, research assistant, nano-technologist, wildlife ranger, and university lecturer.
Our biomedicine programmes provide graduates with an excellent basis for a wide range of careers. Depending on your chosen course, you will be able to pursue a career in biomedicine, biotechnology, conservation, the pharmaceutical or food industries, forensic science, sports science, health care or research.
Our chemical science programmes provide graduates with an excellent basis for a wide range of careers. Depending on your chosen course, you will be able to pursue a career in a range of areas from pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies to forensic science. Depending on your chosen undergraduate course, you may undertake a career in research, development, quality assurance, or assisting legal cases.
