Without foster family support, I have needed to be my own biggest advocate while managing the unique challenges of being Deaf and neurodivergent. I have transformed from a shy individual into a dedicated university student. Navigating university while raising my two-year-old daughter with my partner and working has sometimes felt like I was up against the world so this nomination and recognition from Professor Juan Hiriart proves that despite the barriers, my impact is seen; it validates that success is possible as a student, a worker, and a father.
