“I am deeply honoured to be nominated for a Create Student Award, a recognition that highlights the importance of socially engaged art and its impact on community wellbeing. As an MA student in my final semester at Salford, this nomination validates my journey as a socially engaged photographer and represents the power of art to heal and connect. This honor is not just for me, but for everyone who accompanied me on this journey; Open Eye Gallery, the RHS garden Bridgwater, the University of Salford Art Collection, and the participants from the Salford communities, trusted during the OFFSHOOT project and shared their stories. It celebrates the legacy we’ve built; from the soil of RHS Garden Bridgewater to our exhibition at Open Eye Gallery in Liverpool, reminding us that when we grow together, we find a true place to belong. This project has been a journey of personal and collective healing, and this nomination celebrates the resilience and creativity of everyone involved. It is a proud moment for me to represent the University of Salford's creative community.”
