Nikki O’Sullivan is the Manchester area Chief of Staff for BNY Mellon.

Nikki serves as Chief of Staff at BNY Mellon’s Manchester site, one of the company's six strategic global hubs. Overseeing a location with more than 30 distinct functions and upwards of 2,000 employees, Nikki directly supports the Site Executive and drives the site's strategic agenda. Her responsibilities include leading and developing the Management Office team, spearheading the design and execution of site-wide strategy, and ensuring alignment with corporate objectives across departments.

Nikki plays a key role in long-term planning, risk management, and resource allocation to optimise organisational effectiveness. She cultivates strategic partnerships with charitable organizations, government bodies, and industry stakeholders, supervises high-impact projects, and advances the site's infrastructure and real estate development. Additionally, she implements talent acquisition initiatives to attract top candidates and enhances the firm’s reputation within the broader business community.

Nikki began her career with BNY in January 2011 as a Human Resources recruiter and has continually progressed through roles of increasing responsibility. She has served as EMEA HR Service Delivery Manager, leading a major operational team, and as Principal in Third Party Governance, where she oversaw operations teams in managing inter-affiliate and external vendor relationships while upholding regional regulatory compliance and supporting strategic risk management initiatives.

Renowned for her expertise in people management, strategic planning, and operational leadership, Nikki is a visible advocate for equality, diversity, and inclusion. She champions these priorities as the executive sponsor of 'HEART,' the internal employee resource group dedicated to disability awareness and fostering an inclusive workplace culture. In 2023, Nikki earned the 'Community & Inclusion' award for her role in advancing Manchester’s cultural landscape and initiating the first global 'Unwind Room' to support neurodiverse staff, demonstrating her commitment to strategic inclusion across the organisation.

Throughout her tenure, Nikki has demonstrated strategic leadership in a variety of high-impact projects that have driven operational improvement and organizational transformation. She has played pivotal roles in initiatives focused on modernizing and automating processes, enhancing efficiency and regulatory compliance, and elevating the employee experience across multiple regions. These projects have supported the company’s broader goals while advancing innovation and effectiveness within HR and beyond.
