Biography

I have been a professional musician and educator for 30 years. I have played and toured extensively throughout the UK and Europe appearing on albums, live broadcasts and film. Notable highlights include Bryan Ferry, Hamish Stuart, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra with Ricardo Afonso, jazz singer Todd Gordon, Julian Arguelles, Arild Andersen and the film “RKO-281” starring John Malkovich, Melanie Griffith and Liev Schreiber.

Areas of Research

Tims' research is through practice and the developments of the genre ‘Third Stream’-a musical genre that is a synthesis of Classical music and Jazz. He has recorded 3 albums of late that bring together the structure and harmony of contemporary classical music fused with the spontaneity and an extrovertism of the Avant-Garde.
