Online Sessions
From Monday 04 November until Friday 29 November, there will be a wide variety of online content available for you to engage with. We will cover topics such as application process and portal, financing your studies, student experience and much more. The sessions will be delivered by our expert staff from Recruitment, Admissions and the Doctoral School, giving you a chance to ask any burning questions.

Preparing for postgraduate study at Salford
- We will guide you through the application process at Salford , the key documents you need to submit with your application and how to ace your personal statement. Touching on the financing options for a master's degree and what happens after you've applied to Salford.
Student support and learning at Salford
- We will provide an insight into the student support available at the postgraduate level here at Salford. Covering everything from our askUs support team through to disability support, careers, healthcare on campus and learning spaces accessible.

Live Sessions
From Monday 11 November to Friday 29 November we will be offering live, 60 minute sessions via Microsoft Teams. Links for the live sessions will be sent to you via email on the day of each session, so don't forget to mark your calendars and ensure we have your current email address!
The session below is aimed at doctoral (PhD, MRes, MPhil) enquirers and applicants only.

Preparing for a doctoral degree:
11 November 2024, 15.00-16.00 GMT
This session will give you an introduction to the Doctoral School, research degrees, the application process and fees & funding. There will also be a Q&A with the Director of the Doctoral School.
The sessions below are aimed at master's (MA, MSc, PgDip/Cert) enquirers and applicants, with dedicated sessions for UK (Home) and International audiences.

12 November 2024, 15.00-16.00 GMT
This session will cover an introduction to Salford, the types of taught master's degrees we offer, the application process and the best way to approach your application.

Student application timeline (international students):
13 November 2024, 10.00-11.00 GMT
This session will cover the application process, CAS, visas and fees and funding for international students.

Preparing to finance your master's (UK Home students):
14 November 2024, 17.00-18.00 GMT
This session will cover information about fees and funding opportunities and what key dates and deadlines to consider.

Ready to apply? (UK Home students):
25 November 2024, 15.00-16.00 GMT
This session will cover personal statements good practice, guide you through the application portal and highlight what documents you may need to supply at the time of application.

This session will cover the application process, CAS, Visas and fees and funding for international students.

Ace your portfolio and interview – the do’s and don’ts (UK Home students):
27 November 2024, 15.00-16.00 GMT
This session will take you on a deep dive on what makes a good portfolio and how you can impress at your interview.
How do I join?
Complete the form on the Postgraduate Discovery Month to gain access to the online content and receive updates about Postgraduate study. Once you have completed the form, you will be sent an email on the day of each session with the joining link, which will be held on Microsoft Teams.
Are there any in-person events?
Yes! As a part of our Postgraduate Discovery Month, we are also offering our in-person Open Day on Wednesday 20 November from 13:00 until 18:00. To book your place, please go to our Postgraduate Open Day page.
How do I access the online content?
Please complete the form on our Postgraduate Discovery Month page. You will receive updates about our Postgraduate Discovery Month and how to access our online content.
The session with take place on Microsoft Teams at the allocated time. You will receive further information on how to join via email.
The link is not working, who do I contact?
The link to join the online session will be emailed out to you, as long as you complete the booking form on the Postgraduate Discovery Month page. When you click on the link, you will be placed into the waiting room and the presenter will let you in before the session begins.

What will the live sessions cover?
The masters live sessions will focus on the everything you need to know for preparing to apply, fund and start your student journey at Salford. Sessions aimed at International applicants and enquiries will cover an overview of the timeline, key deadlines and the postgraduate student journey, which includes a Q&A aspect.
If your are looking to study a doctoral degree, the Doctoral School session will cover a variety of things from how a research degree differs to a taught masters, funding and a Q&A with our Director of the Doctoral School.
For sessions aimed at Home students, we are unable to comment on CAS queries, Student Visa questions or application status.
