What to Expect at the Open Day

When you visit our Postgraduate Open Day, you’ll get a real sense of what it’s like to study at Salford. As well as exploring our range of postgraduate courses, you’ll have the chance to chat with academic staff and current postgraduates, and see how our flexible study options could fit around your life.

There’ll be expert advice on fees, funding and scholarships, plus insights into the application process and what we look for in applicants. You’ll also get to tour our campus and ask any questions you have about the support and wellbeing services we offer.

Our Open Day is just one part of Postgraduate Discovery Month – a varied programme of events designed to help you explore your options. From online advice and guidance sessions to subject-specific Q&As, it’s a great opportunity to learn more about postgraduate study and research, and hear directly from our staff and students.

Do I need to book to attend the Open Day?

We recommend booking so you can make the most out of your day. It helps us check you in quickly, share useful details in advance – like parking and your schedule – send you top tips for the day, and let you know about any last-minute changes.

Booking will open soon. In the meantime, you can register your interest by completing the form on the link provided, and we’ll email you as soon as bookings go live.

Can I bring family or friends?

Absolutely. Postgraduate study is a big decision, and we’d love for those supporting you to come along too.

I’m an international student – can I attend the open day?

Our Postgraduate Open Day takes place on campus in Salford, and international students are very welcome to join us if you’re able to travel. 

If you’re not currently in the UK, or can't easily travel to meet us, you can still get involved – we offer a range of online events for international students, so you can explore our postgraduate courses from wherever you are. 

 

Is there support for students with a disability?

Yes. Just let us know any access requirements when you book and we’ll do everything we can to help. You can also attend a drop-in appointment with our disability and wellbeing team at the event.
