University of Salford scoops national education marketing award
The University of Salford is celebrating after winning a national education marketing award.
Salford scooped the bronze trophy at the prestigious HEIST Awards last week, in the ‘Best PR/Communications Campaign or Initiative’ category for our work on Salford Untold.
Now in its 30th year, the HEIST Awards celebrates excellence and innovation in education marketing and recognises the best in the sector. The glittering awards ceremony is usually a highlight in the academic calendar, but this year due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the event was celebrated virtually.
Salford Untold was designed to raise key stakeholders’ awareness of the positive impact of the University, foster pride in the institution within the local community and develop further strategic relationships.
One of the campaign’s key objectives was to demonstrate the impact of the University through data driven key messages and a bespoke social and economic impact report, titled ‘Salford Untold: Our City, Our Region, Your University’, with a particular focus on what the institution offers to the Greater Manchester city region.
Charlotte Morris, Public Affairs Manager at the University, said: “I’m delighted that Salford Untold has been awarded a bronze HEIST award; it is testament to the hard work of a wide project team from across the University.
“The campaign delivered some fantastic creative across print and digital and prompted meaningful conversations with stakeholders on the back of the data that was produced, including two successful events that opened up important conversations with key influencers around the role of the University in Salford and Greater Manchester.
“At a time when universities face an often challenging media and political landscape, Salford Untold was all about telling our story with a bolder, more confident voice to stakeholders in our city and in our region, and I think we achieved that aim.
